Michael Hoffman

Michael Hoffman practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP from 1989 to 2026, managing the firm’s Investment Management Group from 2015 to 2025. His practice focused on the representation of public and private investment funds, business development companies, investment advisers, underwriters, and investment banks in connection with the structuring and distribution of financial products in U.S. and cross-border transactions.

Michael graduated from Duke University Law School in 1989 and from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986. He is married to ILI Fellow Marian Hoffman. They have three sons: Michael (ND, 2022), Matthew, and Walter (ND, 2027).
