James A. Longo, MD

James A. Longo, M.D. has been a practicing cardiologist since 1987 in Syracuse, NY. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Jim was born and raised in Syracuse, graduating Summa Cum Laude from LeMoyne College in 1977, and is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1981 from SUNY Upstate Health Science Center, and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society.

In 1996, Dr. Longo became the founding Medical Director of the LeMoyne College Physician Assistant Program, a position he held until 2017. Dr. Longo has enjoyed teaching both medical students and PA students for over 35 years.

Jim enjoys hiking and biking, and is the ultimate sports fanatic. His proudest achievements are raising his two daughters and being married to his best friend, Christine, for 42+ years.
