Cecile Jagodzinski

Cecile M. Jagodzinski is a retired librarian whose major responsibilities revolved around cataloging and collection development. Over a span of thirty years, she worked in a number of libraries, including the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, a small college library (Quincy College), special libraries (the American Medical Association and Northwestern University Law Library), and academic libraries (Illinois State University and Indiana University).

She majored in English at Canisius College, earning a B.A. from that Jesuit institution. During her professional career, she earned master's and PhD degrees in English literature from Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, respectively. Post-retirement, she has received certification in editing and medical editing from the University of Chicago’s Graham School and currently works as a freelance copy editor. Prior to her work as a librarian, she taught at the high school level in Western New York and has taught undergraduate courses in English at Illinois State University and graduate courses in library science at Indiana University.

Besides reading and studying, Cecile enjoys gardening, crocheting, and listening to opera.
