Alison Thigpen
Alison Thigpen joined the ILI leadership team in June 2023. As a Program Manager, she provides support to the ILI in the areas of communications, admissions, alumni relations and event planning.
Alison has been at The University of Notre Dame since 2007, when she began as an Assistant Director with the Notre Dame Band program. In that role, she coordinated the planning and execution of large-scale events and travel involving the Band, assisted with the administration of the band program in the areas of communications, operations, and recruiting, and taught music courses and ensembles. In addition, Alison served as the Band’s liaison to ROTC, coordinating the timing of 15 pregame flyovers over Notre Dame Stadium between 2011-2017.
In 2018 Alison became the Director of Game Day Operations, where she led the 50-member Guest Services Team, and assisted with the planning and execution of University events and projects supporting Football Weekends, Shamrock Series Games, Commencement, and major Stadium Events with a focus on Operations, Communications, and Hospitality. She also helped lead special projects for the Vice Presidents of Campus Safety & Event Management and University Enterprises and Events.
Alison earned a Bachelor’s of Music Education from The University of Georgia in 2005, and a Masters in Music Education from The University of South Carolina in 2007. She lives in South Bend with her husband Rob, and is active in her church and several local community bands as a clarinetist and conductor.
